Tell us about your character in “I Can.”
Ellis is a superhero that has a mission to complete to save the world, but Dr. Smith doesn’t think she’s ready. Ellis feels bad that she can’t be there with her friends but she has a mission to complete and her friend don’t understand. They pressure her than tease her, and then they abandon her.
Then she sees her mother, who is dead. This is confusing and upsetting. But she stands her ground. With each scene she gets more strength to accomplish her mission.
Her final test is with Dr. Smith. Here she realizes that not all emotions are weak. This makes her ready to complete her mission.
How did you prepare for the role?
I read over my lines every hour and I studied hard.
What was your favorite part of being on set?
The best part of being on set was working with Diana (director), Aaron (screenwriter), and Cory (producer), but most of all, the FRUIT SNACKS.
What was it like working with veteran actor, Mather Zickel (Dr. Smith)?
He’s an amazing actor and I would love to work with him again. He helped me by going over our lines in between takes and sharing his experience with me.
What inspired you to become an actor?
Watching my favorite actors and actresses on TV inspired me to want to do the same.
What does your family think about your acting?
They all thinks it’s an amazing thing that I’m doing and they all encourage me to keep going. What gets me hyped is when my dad asks why people call me “Hollywood.” My answer is because I’m a movie star.
What did you learn about making movies that you didn’t know before?
I learned that it takes a long time to shoot a movie!
